The ski area of Apex Mountain Resort is actually on Beaconsfield Mountain. This is an appropriately named mountain. When you get to the top and look around, you will see lots of tempting sidecountry and backcountry, where an avalanche beacon is required.

Manning Park Resort can be found between Hope and Princeton on Highway 3. The resort and its ski area are within the boundaries of EC Manning Cascade Provincial Park. This area is cold in the winter, and consistently gets a deep snowpack.

Red Mountain Resort claims 28% of the runs in the ski area are double blacks. That's definitely a bit more than average! There is a ton of vertical on the 3 mountains that make up Red. It is probably one of the best places in BC to be on a powder day during a season when the snowpack is good.
