About half way between Vancouver and Calgary, and just off of Highway 1, is the city of Revelstoke, dam of Revelstoke, and ski resort of Revelstoke. They like the name Revelstoke in Revelstoke, and apparently some of them like skiing and snowboarding as well. This resort uses high speed lifts to access a large amount and variety of terrain, making it one of the best advanced ski areas in BC.

Some ski areas are said to be in a snow shadow. If there is an opposite term for that, it could be used to describe Whitewater. This ski area gets significantly more snow than its regional rivals, and it has awesome terrain with which to shred it on a pow day.

This mountain in South Eastern B.C. gets a ton of snow and is conveniently located just far enough away from any major population to keep it fairly low key. If you have seen shots of people riding through the snow and not on top of it they were probably taken here as Fernie gets some of the lightest snow around.
