Under construction since the start of fall, the Polar Peak chair lift is almost ready to spin. This past weekend towers were installed by helicopter under blue sky. If the project keeps on schedule, Fernie's newest lift could open up in the next few weeks.

The Polar Peak will be a fixed grip triple that accesses the highest point of any lift on the mountain. What has people so excited is the terrain it will make available to shred: Over 22 new runs above the tree-line, including bowls.
