Callaghan is part of a provincial park northwest of Whistler. It is a popular area for Nordic skiing, with groomed trails and even a
lodge that offers instruction and guiding packages. Known for getting a ton of snow, it is also a favourite backcountry touring spot.
The province recently closed the Callaghan Valley to motorized use in the winter. This left Anthony Boronowski with a problem, as he could no longer use a snowmobile to get to certain zones where he had hoped to ski.
"It had always been a dream for me to go back there and shoot a bunch of those features," said Boronowski, "without the snowmobiles."
So last winter he, Julien Regnier and Eliel Hindert skinned deep into Callaghan country, set up a base camp and did just that. En Route: Camp BC is a short film by Nimbus that documents their trip:
