Sunshine Village looks to be off to a fast start this season. Delirium dive, home to some of the steepest and most rocky terrain in the entire ski area, is already open for business. Some years this zone has been kept off limits until the Spring, but a snowy November has given the popular freeride zone its second earliest opening ever.
"This past snow cycle, which resulted in over 60 centimetres (24 inches) of snow fall on Sunshine over the past week, coupled with nearly two metres (79 inches) of snowfall prior, has enabled our snow safety crews to perform early season stabilization. This has resulted in our ability to open the terrain at such an exceptionally early date," says a Mountain Operations Manager. (see full press release)
