If Ullr Was A Girl, Her Name Would Be B.E.V.
WHISTLER, BC. (April 22, 2008) – It’s official. After a week of competing in four events Bev Vuilleumier was crowned the champion of Whistler Blackcomb’s “If Ullr Was a Girl” competition, and promptly handed a check for $25,000.

“I’m so happy,” she said after winning. The Tahoe local is just finishing up her college degree and plans to use the money to travel and shred.

A dozen top female pros from the ski and snowboard world participated in the contest, which consisted of big mountain riding, slopestyle, super pipe and a talent show evening of art and culture.

Bev took first place in slopestyle with technical tricks and big spins and headlined the talent competition as the “Notorious B.E.V.” Check Youtube to witness her skills on the mic.

“We all knew it was just a matter of time before Bev scored a big win. She’s just getting started,” said her Salomon and Bonfire Team Manager, Java Fernandez.

Other standouts in the comp included Robyn Van Gyn in the big mountain portion of the contest and Whistler local Dom Vallee who slayed the halfpipe and performed a talent trifecta of piano, slideshow and dance.

When Bev’s name was announced on stage, it took a shove from her friends to realize that she had won the contest. She thanked her friends, her sponsors and whistler mountain for the award and proceeded to the village to celebrate.

Bonfire Snowboarding was created in 1989, in Huntington Beach, California, and has made Portland, Oregon its home since 1992.

Salomon Snowboards recently celebrated 10 years of creating leading edge snowboards, boots, and bindings for riders all over the world.
